Halloween Decorating in our Sunroom

 I love October!

It is such a fun month. It’s when the leaves start changing colors and falling to the ground, it’s when the weather starts to feel cool and crisp, it’s the month of pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple cider, and of course the most important part, October is the month of Halloween!!

This year I decided to decorate our Sunroom for Halloween.

Our sunroom is a room that my family hangs out in a lot and so I thought it would be fun and a little unexpected to add some spooky decor in here.

At the end of this post I’m sharing some other blogger’s Halloween decorating, so be sure to check those out for even more great ideas.

In our sunroom we have a daybed to relax on. It’s actually not a daybed per say, but a twin size bed that I add lots of pillows to to make it look more like a daybed. This is always a cozy spot to hangout on.

Speaking of pillows, I recently turned two vintage rock t-shirts into throw pillows. You can find my easy step by step tutorial HERE. When I first came across these t-shirts at a yard sale, I knew that I wanted to turn them into pillows to use as Halloween decor. I’m not exactly sure what makes Rock n Roll and Black Sabbath feel like Halloween to me, but it just does.

But obviously, the main Halloween decor in here is the huge spider on the windows. This spider was gifted to us by my husband’s uncle years ago, and every year at Halloween we have so much fun finding a new spot for it. It always makes such a big statement to wherever we place it.

I’ve also hidden other creepy objects around this space. A hanging bat and a black owl can be found in this hanging plant holder.

I really like how this space doesn’t so much scream Halloween, but once you look closely, you ‘ll notice all of the fun little touches.

Like the snakes wrapped around the bed post, or the rats peeking out from under the bed.

My Halloween decorations consist of a lot of rats, snakes, spiders, and birds because I think that they are fun scary touches without being too scary or too cute.

I also hid some Halloween decor in my house plants. Here is a skeleton hand rising from the dirt.

While some black crows are perched on the plant’s leaves.

I wanted to add a little bit of the color orange into this space, but truthfully, I really don’t have a whole lot of orange decor and so I brought in this plaid blanket that’s kinda an red-orange color and figured that it would just have to do.

And here is just one last look of the space.

What do you think? Is it just the right amount of creepy? Not too scary, Not too cute.

I hope so, since that was what I was going for.
