Disturbing Feather Halloween Wreath

I don’t know about you, but I find this Halloween wreath I made, disturbing.

My boys like to collect feathers and give them to me because they know I love feathers, but I think it’s safe to say that not all feathers are necessarily beautiful.

Some are down right creepy, especially when they are all matted together in clumps.

But because they are sweet gestures from my boys, I’ve kept them all…..even the ugly ones.

The other day I was looking into the drawer where I keep my collection of feathers,  and I realized it looked pretty disturbing. It look as though there had been a cock fight going on in there.

So I decided that they would be Perfect for a Halloween wreath.

I lightly painted this grapevine wreath with black spray paint.

I then adorned the wreath with the feathers.  I didn’t even use glue, I just stick the feathers in the wreath, and they seem to be staying in place just fine.

I also added some dollar store crows to the wreath.

I then placed the wreath onto my front door.

I actually think it looks quite pretty next to the blue……

 in a disturbing way.

Thanks for stopping by,

Emily

The feathers are beautiful. But like you, when I see a bunch of feathers, I think of when my cat would kill a bird.
