Beach Cottages

I’m a Beach girl all the way!

I dream of living in a sweet little beach cottage by the sea one day.

But until that day comes, I’m happy to just rent one for the week.

In my last post (HERE) I blogged about our little family road trip to the Oregon Coast.

We like to make a trip out there every year and so it’s usually up to me to find us a vacation rental.

I usually opt for a vacation home rather than a hotel because;

1. We always like to bring our dog

2. It’s so nice to have a kitchen so that we don’t have to eat out every meal.

3. Vacation homes are usually so much more cozier than a hotel.

The picture below is the vacation rental that I found for us this year. It’s located in Lincoln City, Oregon

(Website with interior pictures can be found HERE)

The called this Vacation Rental the “Camp Cabin”

It even has a fire pit. We had  fun roasting marshmallows over one the fire one night.

Even though it was super cute, I’m not sure I would refer anyone to this rental.  We did have a few issues with it.

1. The washer plus dryer all-in-one unit was horrible. It would not dry well, and so we arrived to a lot of still damp towels.

2. There is no Air Conditioning in this cabin, which is usually fine since the weather is always a bit cooler on the Oregon Coast, but when we did get hot and wanted to open the windows there were no window screens, which made us  uncomfortable  to leave the windows open at night

It also may have been too small for 3 adults (Jake’s mother came as well) and 2 children.

But other than that it was great.

It had a hot tub and was also right across from the swimming pool, which my boys LOVED!

The property was well taken care for with Lots of big beautiful hydrangeas everywhere.

And the best part about this vacation rental…. Is that it was in walking distance to the beach!

However,  my little pug dog nor my Mother -in -Law cared much for the millions of stairs.

But come on, there’s really No reason to complain here.

Look at the view!!!!

Okay so a little more about the community.

Our Camp Cabin was in a neighborhood called Olivia Beach. About half of the houses there are vacation rentals whereas the rest of the homes are owned by some very lucky people.

See more of Olivia Beach Cottage rentals on their websiteHERE.

There is a sweet little park  in the community  that my boys really enjoyed playing at.

With Neat street lights.

And I thought this was cool, they had seashells all along the flower beds.

ALL of the houses in this neighborhood are so adorable, and of course, I couldn’t help but take pictures of all of them. 🙂

I especially had a thing for all of the painted front doors.

I’m thinking of painting our front door, and these have given me so many ideas.

I also loved this driftwood chime.

I may even try to recreate it.

One day, I even let myself into their Show home that they had opened up for people looking to build.

It of course was amazing inside!

I loved all the little details.

 So much cuteness, Right!?

Anyway, we had a great time. Like I said, we probably wont stay at the camp cabin again but I wouldn’t mind finding another rental from here.

Olivia Beach Vacation Rentals also has a sister neighborhood in Depoe Bay, Oregon called, Bella Beach.

Check out their website HERE.  You may even remember us staying in this rental there a few years back.

That post can be found HERE

Yup, One day (when I win the lottery) I’ll be living it up in a cute little beach house just like one of these.

🙂

Thanks for stopping by,

Emily

We are hoping to join friends in September at Seabrook on the WA coast. It is a community of darling houses to rent, too. I've not been there but my sis and our friends have been several times!

What a pretty community, just lovely! Thanks for the tour around, I'd love to visit there one day and yes, on the lottery – any of those homes you've posted here will do for me!
