Hanging curtains

My new home has so much light that shines through all of the windows.  I just love it.

Before it was being blocked out a bit by these tan curtains, hung by the previous owners.

I switched those out with a pair of sheer black and white curtains that I got at Ikea years ago.

It’s amazing what a difference a pair of curtains can make.

Here were the same curtains hung in the dinning room.

And here’s how it looks with the same black and white sheer curtains.

Here’s a fuller view of both windows.

I’m still loving my new white couch.  Thank you for all of your comments and tips for taking care of it, I really appreciate it.

  (seepost)

I  recently picked up this darling orange pillow at Home Goods. I loved the crochet trim on it.  The pillow comes in several different colors, but I was strangely drawn to the bright orange one.

And then while I was walking through the store I spotted this wire basket that matched the pillow perfectly.  I love the pop of color they both bring.

 Ok now back to curtains.

Before in the kitchen were these sheer green ones.

I replaced them with these white ones that have a jute twine stripe in them

(which hung in the kitchen of my previous home).

And there is a little sneak peak at my new painted cabinets.  I still need to do a few touch ups on them and then I will share them with you next time.  I also have picked out a lovely color to paint the walls with.  I can’t wait to get started on that. Lot’s going on around here. So stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by,

Emily

Amazing how different curtains can change the light and brightness so much. I saw those same pillows at our HomeSense.

Your house looks very elegant, Emily. Thanks to your choices of color because they complement each other. Your white curtains are a treat! Aside from covering your windows, the light penetrating them gives off a very nice effect. I wish you the best in future endeavors! ๐Ÿ™‚
