Blackberry Pie

When Jake and I were just dating he baked me a Peach Pie,  and lets just say I was so impressed that I married him.

To this day, Jake can still bake one hell of a delicious pie.

In my last post I shared my families trip to an apple orchard, but not only did we pick apples, we also picked a bucket full of the largest, juiciest blackberries I had ever seen.

And for every blackberry I picked for the bucket, I think I matched by picking one to eat.

They were so mouth watering delicious.

When we got home, Jake baked a pie with them.

It was Divine!

He started with a store bought refrigerated pie crust and then used this recipe here:

1/2 cup sugar

3 tbs flour

5 cups fresh blackberries

In a large mixing bowl stir together sugar and flour. Add blackberries. Gently toss till coated.

Transfer berry mixture to pastry-lined pie plate.

Add top layer of crust, cut slits

Bake in a 375 oven for 25 min.

cool on wire rack

I Love Pie!

Thanks for reading.

Be back soon!

Blackberry pie and cobbler are my favorite (fruit)desserts! Yum! I grew up in Washington state where blakberries were a weed that tried to take over our yard, so it just about kills me to pay the outrageous prices they charge at the grocery store. 🙂
