My Little Bathroom Makeover

A lot of changes have been made to the main bathroom of our home, and so I thought I’d share them with you today.

This is how my bathroom looked when we first moved in.

The first change I made was to the bathroom cabinet, which I painted white.

Then I was on to tackle the floors.
I was excited to find this product at Lowes.

It may be a little difficult to see from the picture, but its laminate wood floor sticker strips!

Did you know these existed?

You seriously just peel the back paper off and stick them onto your linoleum floors.

It was so easy to apply and I really had fun doing it, which I did all by myself.

You can cut them with a regular pair of scissors to make the strips fit into your space.

I am so pleased with the results.  They have a texture to them, which makes them look and feel like real wood floors. And the best part, they only cost me $30.

It was the best solution for our small bathroom.

So then after the floors were put in, I was needing some pretty paint for the walls.  I went with Arctic White on the walls, and Midwinter Sky for the ceiling. Both colors are from

Dutchboy found at Wal-Mart.

I had Jake put in new base boards.

And here is how the room looks now:

Above the toilet I hung a mirror and a simple shelf.

The shower curtain was from Pottery Barn a few years ago.

By removing the cabinet door on the vanity, it crated an open shelf.

I then made a skirt for my sink by adding fabric to the remaining doors.

I have used a lot of glass jars to hold bathroom supplies.

I am happy with all of the new changes to our bathroom.

It’s looks so much better now.

Emily

It looks fabulous! I love, love, love the laminate wood floor! I've seen those before but wasn't sure how "real" it would look..but after seeing this, I want to try it! And you know my obsession with skirted sinks! Can't wait to see how you did yours, I want to do one in our new bathroom! Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

SO CUTE!!! Oh my gosh, you are a busy girl aren't you ๐Ÿ™‚ I LOVE IT!! I think the toilet paper holder in the wall and the tp-basket-storage in the cupboards are my favorite! I also LOVE the sink curtain and can't wait to read the post on that idea. It was cute before, but now it looks so crisp and clean and even a touch elegant without being over the top! LOVE IT!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful Em! I absolutely love it. I don't know how you find the time -let alone the energy- to do all of these projects. You are amazing!!!

FYI- My dressers are done, but the before pictures didn't turn out. I think they probably could have used a third coat but I was so over the project after day 3. But I'm loving my all-white bedroom… I'm still looking for that amazing headboard that will complete the room. And now I'm all celery-sticked out. I need you to drive/fly/run/whatever out here and tell me if I just wasted the last 6 days texturing (my computer tells me this isn't really a word), priming, painting, cutting in, painting some more… or if it looks totally fabulous. I can't decide. Celery is a funny color and sometimes I think my living room looks like it could glow in the dark.

More comments. (Because I love this so much and I realized that I talked more about myself in the last post than about your new bathroom- how rude!) I love the big jar of bath salts with the wooden spoon. So cute. And your mixed-matched jars. And the hanging sand dollar. I love it all. The floor looks amazing. Was it hard to cut around the toilet?

I am so excited that I came across your blog! Can you believe that I have the same darn linoleum??? Same color anyway, but a little different in design. I am dumbfounded about the stick on wood laminate. That is amazing!! I have goosebumps! I'm definitely a follower now and can't wait to see what else you post.

Laminent floor is so easy to install, just be careful I used some in my downstairs bathroom and after a year or so the top started to peel.

Emily, I would love to know how this has held up to the moisture in your bathroom over time. Thanks!
