Styling a Nightstand

I shared my nightstand onInstagrama couple weeks ago as part of the #HomeYouHave challenge that I’m co-hosting with a couple of blogging buddies.  As I’ve mentioned before the Home you Have challenge is all about re-vamping your spaces using Only items that you already own.  We like the idea of not spending a dime to give your spaces a fresh new look. It’s really fun, so be sure to follow me onInstagram to play along.

Re styling your nightstands was the perfect challenge for me since mine was in need of a makeover.

So I went shopping around our home and this is what I came up with.

I use a vintage telephone table as my nightstand. I found the table at a yard sale sometime ago and I fixed it up by painting it white. (see the before and after here)

Next, I hung up this beautiful ‘Be Present’ art that is a free printable from City Farmhouse

(foundHere) I just love having this daily reminder to always be present and to live in  the moment, because that is where you find Happiness.

I then hung an old wooded frame around it.

A couple of easy-to-care for plants, some candles, and incense help to make the space feel calm and relaxing.

Lastly, I switched out the stack of books for a stack of magazines that I have been meaning to read. They are Architectural Digest that my library gave to me knowing that I’d be interested in looking through them.  Ha Ha, I love living in a small town.

Anyway, just a really simple nightstand styling, but I was hoping to perhaps inspire you to shop your homes and give your nightstands a makeover.

Again, if you want to play along with the hashtag, #HomeYouHave, then head on over to my Instagram. We announce a new theme every Monday night and you have until Friday night to add your pictures. And then on Sunday my co-host and I decide on a favorite and we post it on All of our feeds.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by,

Emily
