DIY Chalkboard Christmas Ornaments

Oh My, Christmas is almost here, I’m ready! Are you?

Did you notice these cute chalkboard ornaments on my Christmas tree this year?

I had a lot of fun making these, and wanted to share more about them with you today.

I just bought some big red Christmas bulbs at the dollar tree, but I think this could also be a great way to re-purpose some old ornaments that you may not use anymore.

I removed the tags and metal hangers, stuck the bulbs on wooden skewers, and then spray painted them with black chalkboard paint. I also gave the metal hangers a light spray as well.

Once they were dry, I wrote on them with a piece of chalk. I just kept it simple since I’m no artist, but obviously you could write anything you wanted and really have fun with it.

On a few of them, I tied on peices of black and red plaid fabric scraps.

I think they look great on our tree with the whole red and black theme I’ve got going on.

After Christmas, I want to write new years sayings on them like,”Happy New Year” “Cheers” and “2016”.

I’ll be back tomorrow to share our Christmas Nights Tour.

So please stop by again for that.

Season’s Greetings!

Emily
